Restoring livelihoods of Livestock Producers through the provision of climate resilience livestock structures damaged by Hurricane Maria

WHO CAN APPLY?

If you are able to circle all of the following, you are likely to be qualified and should apply                                    

  • Had a Livestock structure(s) damaged or affected by Hurricane Maria. (To be verified by your Livestock Officer.)
  • Currently engaged in livestock production
  • Must be willing to follow resilient building standard determine by the Project Implementation Unit (PIU).
  • Must be willing to contribute at least 50% (in-kind) of the total investment required for a complete and functional livestock structure

HOW CAN I CONTRIBUTE 50%?

Beneficiary to make investment to match Project support.

This can be with the value of the following structures and equipment

  1. The partially restored livestock structures i.e. foundation and walls of resilient strength
  2. Fully restored livestock structure
  3. The storeroom
  4. Waste management biogas or septic systems)
  5. Wire cages & PVC support structure for rabbits
  6. Equipment waterers, feeders, nipples)
  7. Water tank, PVC fittings and plumbing supplies
  8. Plastic slatted floors and fiber -glass beam for small ruminants
  9. Solar Energizer unit and   Electric Fence rope for small ruminants
  10. The protective gears, smoker and harvesting tools. (Bee Keepers

N: B: Valuation will be done by a team comprising of Project Engineer, Livestock Officers and PIU staff

WHAT DO I NEED TO APPLY?

  1. Provide a valid legal identification, (Social Security Card, Driver’s License or Passport)
  2. Land title or lease agreement for at least 3 years.
  3. Livestock Producers from the Kailnago Territory needs a letter from the Kalinago Council stating legal rights for constructing livestock structure.
  4. Physical Planning Permission
  5. Environmental Health Permission
